Library Locations & Hours
A child must be present to have a card issued in their name. The parent or legal guardian must be physically present when the child receives the card, as they will be financially responsible for any fees that are charged to the child’s account.
Teens (ages 13-17) may get a library card without their parent or legal guardian. They will need to bring a valid form of photo ID. When a teen receives a library card without the parent or guardian present, the library will notify the parent or guardian by mail. If the parent or guardian does not want the teen to have a library card, it is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to notify the library.
You know the library has books and magazines for children. But did you know about our audiobooks, graphic novels, backpacks/kits, CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays, video games, launchpads, and more, all for kids? What about our eBooks, eAudiobooks, online magazines, streaming movies, streaming and downloadable music, and other online resources that you can use on your personal devices or computers? It's all free with your child's new library card!
Children under 18 will be restricted from checking out certain materials, including R-rated films, M-rated video games, and Explicit-rated CDs. Please be aware that Freegal, hoopla, the Greater Phoenix Digital Library/Libby, and other digital library applications allow full access to all library card holders, including restricted minors.
