Stop by the library service desk at any of our locations with your children, proof of your current address, and your valid photo ID. A child must be present to have a card issued in their name. The parent or legal guardian must be physically present when the child receives the card, as they will be financially responsible for any fees that are charged to the child’s account.
Teens (ages 13-17) may get a library card without their parent or legal guardian. They will need to bring a valid form of photo ID. When a teen receives a library card without the parent or guardian present, the library will notify the parent or guardian by mail. If the parent or guardian does not want the teen to have a library card, it is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to notify the library.
Children under 18 will be restricted from checking out certain materials, including R-rated films, M-rated video games, and Explicit-rated CDs. Please be aware that Freegal, hoopla, the Greater Phoenix Digital Library/Libby, and other digital library applications allow full access to all library card holders, including restricted minors.
Our library app makes it easy to keep track of what your children check out. Add their cards to your account and see everything in one convenient location.
