How can I find or create objects to print?
You can easily find and download digital files of objects ready for printing from the websites like the ones linked below.
Thingiverse
Pinshape
Printables
Youmagine
Cults3D
You can also design your own object or edit an existing digital file from one of the sites above, using free 3D modeling software, such as TinkerCad and Blender. There are many online tutorials, and the library sometimes offers short classes for beginners to get started.

Which file formats does the library accept?
The library only accepts .STL formatted files for 3D printing.
What types of materials/filaments does the library use to print?
Currently, the library only prints with PLA filament.
Water-soluble PVA filament is available for supports, upon request.
How much will my printed object cost?
The library charges ten cents ($0.10) per gram. A staff member will contact you with an estimate before printing your object.
What is the largest object the library can print?
The maximum dimensions of a library 3D printed object are 280 x 280 x 270 (in millimeters) or 11 X 11 X 10.5 (in inches). However, we are mainly equipped to handle smaller format prints. Larger, more complex prints can sometimes produce unsatisfactory results.
How long will it take to print my object?
Most items can be printed in seven to ten business days. Once a project has been submitted through the library's online 3D Printing Request Form, a staff member will contact the patron with more information. Items that are not picked up within 21 days of notification will become property of the library and disposed of or displayed as appropriate. Items must be picked up by the individual(s) who signed the 3D Printing Request Form.
